First Ever Hemp Exhibition
There it was advertised in the leaflet. Hemp Exhibition at the Customs & Excise museum 24th & 25th May 2003. I couldnt miss the opportunity now could I ? So I packed my bag with a variety of pipes, gauzes, skins, roach books, lighters & mags & boarded the Vipermobile. After dealing with the parking ticket thing I entered the main Maritime Museum which also houses the Custom & Excise Museum & the Transatlantic Slave Museum.
Going straight into the C&E to check out what was happening I rounded every corner to find no display or mention of hemp. I went & checked with the girl at the desk, second floor of the Maritime Museum. Peaking the rise of the second floor I found the Hemp Exhibition sidelined into a small room that looked more like a staff only place. However there were people inside & there was some plainly visible Hemp products to be seen. The Hemp lemonade Id seen in the Hemp Hotel I recognized from way off, without my visual aids.
As it turned out they were locking up for dinner but I got talking to a couple of them & sold one a copy of Northern Lightz 8. After dinner I was ready for them, talking up a storm with Phil while I edged towards an unused table, spread my flags over it, & began loading it up with mags. As I was setting out the skins, Have you got permission off the museum to do that ? Have you got a licence ?
Chatting to Phil as I packed away my gear it emerged that the organizers wish to make this a twice yearly event. It might also transpire that a certain local magazine distributer might be about to furnish a certain museum with a collection of the right sort of literature. Watch this space.
